Parenting the Protectors: The Role of a Parent Figure in the Leadership of the Philippine National Police Academy

Leadership in an organization is often thought of in terms of traditional hierarchical structures, with a CEO at the top and managers and employees below. However, there is another way to view leadership as a parent figure, and I have seen it in the Philippine National Police Academy . In this context, the Director plays the role of a father, providing guidance and direction, while his wife acts as a mother, nurturing and supporting the personnel under their care.

A father figure in an organization sets the tone for the entire team. PMGEN Eric Escosio Noble, like a father in a family, provides the vision and direction for PNPA. Establishes the goals and objectives that the team will work and creates a sense of purpose that motivates everyone to work towards a common goal. He also provides structure and discipline, sets the rules and expectations for behavior and performance, and ensures that everyone is held accountable for their actions. Police Major General Noble is responsible for creating a culture of excellence, where every member of the team strives to do their best.

A mother figure in an organization provides the nurturing and support that every employee needs to succeed. Dr Cecilia Noble, like a mother in a family, takes care of the emotional needs of the team, providing a safe and supportive environment where everyone feels valued and respected. The mother figure also provides guidance and mentorship. She helps each team member develop their skills and abilities, and provides opportunities for growth and development. Dr Cecilia Noble is responsible for creating a culture of learning, where everyone is encouraged to share their knowledge and expertise with others.

In conclusion, leadership in PNPA can be viewed through the lens of a parent figure. PMGEN Eric Escosio Noble, a father figure which provides vision and direction, while Dr Cecilia Noble is mother figure who provides nurturing and support. By combining both roles, it creates a high-performing organization where every member of the team feels valued and supported. Ultimately, leadership is about creating a culture of excellence, where every member of the team is empowered to reach their full potential.
