When I was still a child, I dreamed frequently. Sometimes they were very strange and humorous, and I can still recall most of those dreams. For instance, I continue to imagine myself as a gallant warrior fighting armed rebels but in reality, I am just holding a piece of a broomstick that serves as my gun. I always fantasized about being in a war fight, commanding my troops but I am just alone in my room. From that moment I already visualized my desired life after 8 years, and every time I imagined it, it has the miraculous ability that shows me the way how to achieve it. When I became older I realized that without proper planning, visualization is useless. To make sure that I am headed in the right direction, I set a plan and objectives.
Now
I was once a child who dreamed of becoming a man who could serve and protect this country. Years passed, and my goal remained the same. I learned and trained to become a leader with competency and character. Being on this path, I must grow comfortable with taking risks and making life-or-death decisions. I must think critically and lead better than my adversary. Regardless of my motivation, by choosing this profession, I have made the life-changing decision to commit body and soul to the service of this great country. Having this profession means knowing that I am part of something bigger than myself with a noble purpose. To everyone who dreams of becoming one, go forth and do great things, not for self-glory or personal gain, but because it is your calling.
