Commemoration of Marwi Liberation

The liberation of Marawi five years ago is a historic event that celebrates the valor of the unsung heroes who fought during the siege. It is evidence of the Philippines' strength and resiliency as a nation and of its people, who stood as one against a common foe. Cadets from the Philippine Military Academy, Philippine National Police Academy, National Capital Region Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC), Philippine Air Force Officer Candidate School, Philippine Army Officer Candidate School, and Philippine Navy Officer Candidate School took part in the activity to demonstrate their support for and dedication to the nation.
The primary objective of this gathering was to improve relations between the various service branches. The nation learned the value of teamwork and camaraderie in the face of difficulty during the Marawi siege. It demonstrated how each unit must cooperate and put aside its ego in order to accomplish a shared objective. This gathering aimed to emphasize the value of cooperation and unity while dispelling the myth that every unit must strive to be the best

I was motivated by my experience as a soon-to-be commissioned officer of the Philippine National Police. It helped me understand how important networking with other service academies is and how it will benefit me in establishing my credibility as an officer. I am aware that by collaborating with others, I will be better able to carry out my duty to serve, defend, and safeguard the Filipino people. This experience will also mold my character as an officer and serve as a reminder of the value of teamwork and cooperation when facing difficulties.
